“King Kunta” is a powerful song with quite a few hidden meanings and messages; if you were not to know beforehand the context of some of these issues this song would fly over your head. From dissing other celebrities to oding to the past, “King Kunta” is a very catchy tune with some pretty deep messages. It is dealing with slavery of two kinds, literal slavery as well as to the music industry.

I wanted to create a poster that would highlight the significance of this song and match the style of the album cover. With a distressed typeface, this blends in with the distressed look and feel of the lyrics, as well as graffiti type you would see in bigger cities.
